STAMFORD - Dolan Middle School will be closed Monday as crews work to fix a water leak that prompted a fire department response, according to the Belltown Volunteer Fire Department Twitter account.
Firefighters from several Stamford companies were called to the school at 51 Toms Road after a fire alarm was activated at about 5:36 p.m. Sunday, reports said. There was no fire in the school but a water leak had affected the building's fire protection system and other mechanical equipment, according to the Belltown Fire Department.
Firefighters shut the water and began salvage operations, firefighters said.
The school will be closed today as crews make repairs, officials said.
The Fire Marshal's Office will be making sure that the fire protection system is working properly before students are allowed back in the building, officials said.
