WEST UNION, Iowa (KCRG) The City of West Union wants people to use only bottled drinking water for the next couple of days.

City staff said due to a large water main break in town, the city water is not safe to drink. It can still be used for bathing, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
However, officials said that boiling the tap water in town will not make it safe to ingest, thus the advisory to use only bottled water until further notice.
Crews are working to repair the damage. A tentative date for a new water test is Wednesday, January 15, 2020, according to officials.
