Residents in Soddy-Daisy is are being urged to keep their faucets running to allow water to go from pink to clear.

North West Utility District water treatment plant says they encountered a treatment problem this afternoon.

Officials say some residents may experience pink and or discolored water. They say they're working to fix the problem.

Officials say residents should flush their faucets until the water clears. They do say the water is safe to drink. They apologize for any inconvenience.

North West Utility District released the following statement:

"North West Utility District water treatment plant encountered a treatment problem Saturday afternoon. Plant personnel quickly responded to the situation to correct the problem. However, some customers in the Soddy Daisy area, may temporarily experience pink and or discolored water. Residents experiencing discolored water should flush their faucets until the water clears. We have been in contact with TN Department of Environment and Conservation and confirmed the water is safe. We apologize for any inconvenience." - North West Utility District water treatment plant
