Route 4 Water Main Break Causing 2-Hour School Delay in Farmington - NBC Connecticut

A water main break on Route 4 in Farmington is causing a 2-hour school delay in town.

The Metropolian District Commission says water crews are on Farmington Ave. making repairs on a 16-inch main that broke around 4 a.m. Friday.

Due to the break, all schools are delayed two hours and there is no morning or afternoon half day preschool, school officials said.

The heavily traveled road is closed between Talcott Notch and the entrance to UCONN Health. Farmington Police are detouring motorists from Talcott Notch to Mountain Spring.

The MDC said water has been restored to all of the residents and businesses.

It is unclear how long it will take ot repair the water main.
